THE DETAILS, WITHOUT THE MYSTERY

Release notes
& testing.

October 19, 2026. Windows 1.1.0; Mac and Android 1.2.0.

The playful refresh

Mac 1.2.0

Separate Apple Silicon and Intel bundles, macOS menus and Command shortcuts, save-before-quit behavior, and reopen-from-Dock support. Both archives passed independent code-directory hash, resource digest, symlink, permission and embedded-source checks.

Preview status: Apple Developer ID signing, notarization and native Mac launch verification have not been completed. An ad-hoc integrity signature is included. The absence of an Apple signing account and a Mac test machine blocks a claim of a fully verified Mac release.

Android 1.2.0

Touch-sized controls, collapsible navigation, private atomic file saving, native document-picker backup/restore, and a release-signed APK. The app requests no internet or broad storage permission. Package signatures, alignment and bundled-source checks passed. Shared phone UI and backup-bridge checks and Java storage/recovery tests passed.

Native Android launch verification remains pending. This host has no hardware acceleration; a fresh software emulator connected through ADB but did not complete boot within 600 seconds. No APK launch on that emulator is claimed. Physical-phone testing and Google Play publication are not included. See the source download for full QA evidence.

Windows 1.1.0

Windows 1.1.0 includes the playful notebook interface, local saving, backup and restore. Linux Electron workflows, model tests and browser tests passed; native Windows installation, runtime and uninstall verification remain pending.

What the tests mean

Automated checks exercise real notebook logic, storage, corruption recovery and interface workflows. Where a file picker or native host is controlled by a test fixture, that boundary is explicitly documented. Cross-building or inspecting an archive is not the same as launching it on the target device.

The source download includes test scripts, QA reports, guides and build instructions.

Licenses

The app includes Kalam under the SIL Open Font License and Twemoji sticker artwork under CC BY 4.0, with attribution and license files included in the source and packaged assets. Electron and Android platform components retain their own licenses. This release does not grant a separate open-source license to the application code.
